Negotiate the best possible contract price
Review SLAs on a regular basis
Identify a minimum of two quotes for any ad hoc request
Compare pricing against any previously obtained quotes
Provide training to internal Account Managers
Carry out regular face to face supplier reviews to ensure competitive pricing and service levels are maintained

THE IDEAL PERSON
Ideally a graduate or have experience working in a similar role
Must be able to quickly understand a broad range of different products and services and how their pricing models vary and where the suppliers are making their profit
Someone who is a ‘natural’ buyer – who will not be satisfied with the first price given. Instead this person will enjoy looking for better deals!
Computer literate with a good understanding of Excel
Good head for figures – you need to be very comfortable with percentages, averages etc.
